UMR 1048 SADAPT is an interdisciplinary research unit working on the adaptation of agri-food systems to new challenges related to sociotechnical transitions, crises, and changes.

SADAPT focuses on four priority themes that are news challenges:

  • TP1: Food and Urban Agriculture.
  • TP2: Health(s) for More Sustainable Agriculture.
  • TP3: Rethinking and Redesigning Agri-Food Systems.
  • TP4: Transdisciplinary Approaches for Public Action and Territorial Development.

SADAPT addresses these challenges and how they interact with pre-existing issues (such as climate change, biodiversity loss, agroecology…). To foster research freedom, SADAPT also addresses issues beyond its priority themes — topics that may emerge at any moment. This is made possible through agile and flexible “exploratory” working groups, supported by internal SADAPT funding.
